16th Annual Walk/Run for Domestic Violence Awareness

The Raton Professional Business Women and the Raton Kiwanis Club would like to invite everyone to participate in their 16th Annual Walk/Run for Domestic Violence Awareness. The walk/run will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 and will have a 1, 3, and 5 mile course. Registration will begin at 8:30am, with the walk/run starting promptly at 9:00am. The event will start on Historic First Street, between Cook and Park Avenues. Walkers and runners who collect $25 or more in pledges will receive a 2010 Event T-shirt.

The following cash prizes will be awarded: $50 to the runner with the most pledges collected, $50 to the adult with the most pledges collected, and $25 to winner under age of 19 with most pledges collected. Minimum pledges collected by an individual runner or walker shall be $50 to be eligible for prizes. A cash prize of $100 will be awarded to the team entry with the most pledges collected. A team shall consist of three or more persons with a minimum of $150 pledges collected.

All proceeds from the Walk/Run benefit the local Alternatives to Violence program, which serves Colfax, Harding, and Union counties. Pledge forms can be picked up at City Hall or The First National Bank of New Mexico, or from any PBW or Kiwanis member.
