Flat River Band Steps In for EXILE at the Shuler Theater; refunds will be honored
Raton, NM. - (Sept. 3, 2026) – American country-rock legends and Kentucky Music Hall of Fame inductees Exile have canceled their scheduled Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026, appearance at the Shuler Theater as part of the Gate City Music Festival in Raton, New Mexico, following medical advice concerning founding member, lead guitarist, and vocalist J.P. Pennington.
Pennington is currently recovering from surgery and the implantation of a pacemaker. Under the advisement of his physician, he remains under medical care and has been instructed not to travel or perform at this time.
It is with sincere regret that EXILE must cancel its appearance at the Gate City Music Festival while Pennington focuses on his recovery.
“EXILE sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and extends our gratitude to the fans for their understanding. We look forward to returning to Raton in the near future.”
Flat River Band will perform in place of EXILE at the Shuler Theateron Sunday, Sept. 6.

ABOUT FLAT RIVER BAND:
Growing up in Fredericktown, MO,Flat River Band brothers, Chad, Andy, and Dennijo traveled throughout the United States in their family Country/ Gospel Band, perfecting their instruments and harmonies under the direction of Mom and Dad.
